About the artist

The designer behind FJORD is Suffía Nón and she draws all the artwork and designs all the Fjord products. The name FJORD originates from her hometown Fuglafjörður where Suffía was born and raised.

FJORD started in september 2016 when Suffía for fun drew some birds, which she posted on her Facebook profil. This has since developed into several different products that are in high demand both in the Faroe Islands and abroad.

With Suffía’s idea to design cheerful items, which have inspiration from faroese culture and nature, FJORD has quickly become one of the islands’ most beloved design brands. Known for its nostalgic humour, whimsical animals, and affectionate nods to everyday island life, the brand has gathered a loyal local following as well as international interest, recently winning the Entrepreneur of the year award, and as well as the Brand of the Year award.

Custom designs

At FJORD, we collaborate with museums, visitor attractions, and companies seeking meaningful, well‑designed products for their gift shops. We create custom collections that reflect each partner’s identity, story, and surroundings —designs made to be taken home and remembered.

All illustrations and designs are created by Faroese artist and designer Suffía Nón, who is the designer behind all of Fjord’s products. Through close collaboration, we translate each partner’s world into distinctive designs across a wide range of quality products.

Among our collaborations is Den Blå Planet in Denmark, where Suffía illustrated marine animals featured on tote bags, tea towels, magnets, postcards, bottles, and puzzles. We have also developed product collections for Elding Whale Watching in Iceland, featuring illustrated Icelandic motifs and whales.

From concept and illustration to production and delivery, FJORD manages the entire process with care and attention to detail.
